top of page TOWN OF HEDGESVILLE Log In Home Contact Downtown Businesses Events & Activities Ordinances Town Documents TOWN OF HEDGESVILLE WELCOMES YOU The Town of Hedgesville is located at the site of a natural limestone spring which had been an Indian meeting place before the European settlers came into the region in the early 1700’s. The spring was a determining factor leading to the settlement of the area. The Town grew out of a trading village known as Skinners Gap in North Mountain. A charter in 1870 gave the Town Council control of the area and adjacent land. The water temperature of the spring is a constant 57 degrees and has never been affected by drought. Legend has it that whoever drinks from the spring will always return. MONTHLY MEETING DAYS & TIMES TOWN COUNCIL MEETING Our Town Council Meeting is held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm at 105 Potato Hill St. All requests to be put on the agenda must be received by the Friday before the meeting.
